Men of Redeemer Men’s Spring Dinner Tuesday, March 29

SARASOTA - Join the Men of Redeemer in a night of action movie clips and discussion, hosted by David Dusek of the Sarasota ministry Rough Cut Men. The night will include a dinner of pizza and salad. The film clips from movies like Facing the Giants and Empire Strikes Back are universally appropriate for all ages; fathers and sons are invited and EYC and Junior EYC boys are encouraged to attend.

Each segment is approximately 45 minutes and includes 15 minutes of discussion time in small groups. Valentine Dinner Set For Feb. 12

The Men of Redeemer are sponsoring their annual Valentine's Dinner, this year to be held Saturday, Feb. 12. The dinner will begin with a Mass and Renewal of Vows at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 social hour.

Bob and Mary Hills are champions for the event, which is a yearly event in the parish.

The $45 per couple dinner will be catered by J. Ryans of Sarasota. It will start with a Caesar salad and grilled 8 oz. Wild Alaskan Salmon, kissed with lemon caper beurre blanc or grilled 10 oz. Prime Delmonico Steak, drizzled with brandied green peppercorn sauce. The dinner will be served with mashed scallion potatoes, fresh vegetable medley and cherries Jubilee. It includes champagne and wine.

New Christian Leadership Concepts Class Begins

SARASOTA - Andy Dorr, Terry Simes and Rick Blackmore will be starting a new Christian Leadership Concepts class beginning in early 2011. This two-year program challenges men to grow in their faith and experience the journey of standing together with 11 other men as they learn to lead together.

Truth Project Begins Monday, November 8

SARASOTA - The education series The Truth Project begins on Monday, November 8 at 6:30 a.m. The Men of Redeemer are sponsoring the series, which will be held in Gillespie Hall at Church of the Redeemer. It runs for 12 weeks in one-hour sessions.

Truth Project is a video and discussion series developed by Focus on the Family. A bit about it from their website:

The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This home study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.

Steak Night November 4 Features Klondike Bars

Join the Men of Redeemer for our annual Steak Night on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. The annual event includes grilled steak, potatoes and Klondike Bars.

Speakers include Redeemer's Youth Minister Chris Wood, whose topic is "It's Simple, Man." The second feature will be Tim Reese, the Sarasota area's new Young Life coordinator. His topic will be "Making Disciples."

Invited guests include groups from local Episcopal churches.

Explore Series by Robert Lewis

SARASOTA - Are you ready to Explore?

The newest class for the Men of Redeemer is Explore by Robert Lewis. The series discusses evangelism, and gives each attendee some insight into how to discuss Christianity with new believers.

The sessions are held at Church of the Redeemer each Tuesday morning at 6:30 to 8 a.m. and will run through October 12, 2010. Leaders of the sessions are Todd Menke and Jay Crouse.

Explore is a 5-week dynamic DVD training series by Robert Lewis. Lewis is best known for his Men’s Fraternity series. Each Tuesday session includes video, coffee and a discussion period. Questions include:

• What do we believe?
• Can we make a difference?

Pizza With The Priest on May 6

SARASOTA - The Men of Redeemer will be host an evening called "Pizza With a Priest" on Thursday, May 6.

Fr. Fred Robinson will talk to the parish men at the dinner, which will be May 6th at 6 p.m. at Gillespie Hall. His title is simply “ Paradise.”

This will be a presentation with Q&A. Discussion points will include:

• What does the Church teach about life after death?
• Is there an intermediate “place” between heaven and hell?
• Why do we pray for the dead?
